Module 1 provides an overview of foundational aspects of interpersonal communication within the context of essential conversations/dialogues common to leading a team.

Objectives

  • Foundational aspects of effective interpersonal communication.
  • Common barriers and the dual needs of conversations/dialogues - ‘how’ (interpersonal) and ‘what’(purpose/goal).
  • The messaging factor and duality (e.g., affirm versus demean) of our universal communication - “tools” - words, eyes, presence, gestures, listening.
  • Insight for lowering barriers.
